This site serves as your saddlebag for idea success.
First off, what’s a saddlebag?
Have you ever seen a motorcycle that has a lump protruding from the side of the rear tire – one lump on each side? I’m getting really basic here. Those symmetrical lumps are saddlebags – bags that, in cowboy movies, hung from the horse’s saddle. Since motorcycles are viewed as “horses” to us riders, we call the bags that “hang” from our motorcycle “saddles” saddlebags. On motorcycles, saddlebags can be soft (leather; other material) or hard (molded plastic; metal boxes; other).
Here’s a photo of my own motorcycle. I have hard saddlebags on my motorcycle. You can see one of the two at the back of the motorcycle, next to the rear tire. It is bolted onto the motorcycle frame rather than hanging from the saddle, but it’s a saddlebag nonetheless.
Next – what in the world does a saddlebag have to do with tools for your idea success?
Motorcyclists carry tools and equipment in our saddlebags. We carry tools for fixing and maintaining our motorcycles in case something happens when we’re on the road. We carry food & beverages, clothing, and accessories we need for a short trip, a day-long outing, or overnight adventures. I like using analogies and metaphors when I communicate messages. Therefore, since this site “carries” tools you can use to success with implementing your ideas, I call this site your idea success saddlebag (instead of toolbag or toolbox or similar metaphor).
Whether you ride a motorcycle or not, you can now relate to the medium that contains tools you can use as your saddlebag!
So now what do I do with this metaphoric saddlebag … this site?
